When I was a kid my favourite poem was FOOTPRINTS. A Christian classic about a person reflecting on her life. 🙏🏽
In the poem, she asks God why for most of her life, she could see two sets of footprints, but at the times of greatest difficulty, she could see only one.
God responds, “My dear precious child. I would never leave you. At those times – when you saw only one set of footprints – it was then that I carried you.”
Again and again, I get this lesson 🔥
The setbacks that I thought were meant to torture me, were there to help me grow. Being pulled away from one path only happened so I could get pushed towards another.
I am always being redirected in service of my Purpose and my higher Self
Often, my initial reaction is to resist that push-pull, that wax-wane, but increasingly the more I recognize all the times I am being supported the more I learn to trust the struggles too.
I am not special. I am not a chosen one.👊🏽
